Players across the globe have taken to The Silph Road's Reddit and other social media platforms during the afternoon of Wednesday, September 25, 2019 to report changes to many common spawn-points for Pokemon.
Congrats on the New Spawn Points, But it Should be Noted that Many Spawn Points were Removed
So as not to get buried in the hype of new spawn points, some areas are seeing great reductions. I lost half of the nearest spawn points. I'll be checking later to see how much has changed in my area.
Edit: Post if you are urban or residential and how much of a decrease you've noticed. Add any location tags that may give insight as well.
Edit 2: I just did a usual trip around my residential area and it appears to be about a 50% reduction in spawn points. I have not checked business centers in the area to see if they have been affected.
Did spawn points just drastically change or reset?
At work and have the entire area near a pokestop mapped out. Spawns happen at 1, 3, 18,etc. everything was caught and at 2:22 local time 6 Pokémon spawned all at once in positions where they normally wouldn’t.
Update after 1st hour: typically have 6 Pokémon spawn within range of the pokestop at work each hour. In last hour since changes went live, I’ve caught 22 Pokémon and the distance from my avatar that a Pokémon will spawn appears to be slightly larger.
No official sources linked to Niantic or the Pokemon Company have currently commented regarding any changes, and no official channels have provided any form of confirmation as of yet, but the consensus among most players seems to be that many spawn points in the game have been added, changed, or even removed in some cases.
