The next Pokemon Go event looks set to include some spooky new surprises.
While Niantic have yet to confirm the news, the Pokemon Company have revealed that the seasonal Halloween event will be returning in 2017.
Trainers expected as much but some have looked a little closer at the wording of the recent Pokemon Company statement.
It reads: “The Halloween season is a special time in Pokemon Go.
“Plenty of good stuff is coming to the game later this October, and we can't wait to get out and about to see what sort of excitement we can scare up while catching new Pokemon to fill out our Pokedex.
“Stay tuned for more details about Pokemon Go's Halloween event coming soon.”
The idea of catching “new Pokemon” is something that fans have been looking forward to for a while and some are hoping that this might be in reference to the launch of Gen 3 Pocket Monsters.
Multiple Ghost-type Pokemon made their debut in Gen 3, which makes Halloween the perfect time to introduce a selection of brand new Pokemon to the game.
And there have been recent reports that suggest Niantic are busy working on incorporating the next generation of Pokemon into the game.
Evidence has been found that suggests a Gen 3 Pokemon update could be launched very soon.
According to the latest information from dataminers, a small update was deployed earlier this year that included some BIG changes.
And according to those who have looked at the current build, all 135 Gen 3 species names were added to the game.
That’s a huge range of new Pocket Monsters to catch, and would prove a big addition.
