It looks like Niantic have some big plans for collectors in April, with more than just the upcoming Community Day being primed for launch this month.
Fans may have already heard that the development team were cooking up something for later this week, and now new details have been uncovered.
New information from the secret April launch has been discovered by dataminers, who have confirmed some massive news.
According to what has been found by those digging through the game code, it appears that the development team are putting together something special.
It appears that the next Pokemon Go event will include all the Shinies from Generation 1.
While this hasn’t been confirmed officially, dataminers are reporting that all Gen 1 Pocket Monsters now have shiny 3D assets within the game code.
And coupled with the recent announcement that something special is being put together to celebrate the Kanto Region, we could be about to see a flood of variants.
We already know from a recent email newsletter that Niantic are planning for something new, starting on April 10.
“Trainers, starting April 10, we’ll be hosting a special celebration in honor of the Kanto region in Pokémon GO,” the message from Pokemon Go Live reads.
“Keep your eyes on the official Pokémon Go website and social media channels for more information surrounding this event.”
No other information has been provided by Niantic, although if something is arriving on April 10, we might start hearing more about it very soon.
As of the time of writing, no new news has been posted on the official Pokemon Go website, or as part of the events tab.
There’s a bunch of online speculation on what this could mean for the game, with many fans hoping it has something to do with regionals.
However, from what has now been found by dataminers, it appears that a new Pokemon Go Shiny event will be launched later this month.
There’s also the chance that this will just be the start of something that will be gradually rolled out through the year too.
It would certainly get players racing outdoors if they found out that every Gen 1 Pokemon now had a Shiny available to catch.
But launching all 151 Pokemon variants on a single day doesn’t sound like Niantic’s usual tactic of drip-feeding new content over weeks and months.
Fans will need to keep a close eye on the official Pokemon Go social feeds to find out exactly what is being planned for later this month.
It follows news about another big event which will be going live later in April.
The April Community Day for Pokemon Go is scheduled for next week and will include Mareep as the special Pocket Monster.
This will come with its own exclusive move, as well as the chance of catching a shiny variant.
Trainers will have to catch a Mareep during the three-hour event and evolve it to unlock the special move, which has now been confirmed.
For those who evolve their Mareeps into Ampharos, they will be rewarded with the exclusive move of Dragon Pulse.
Dragon Pulse is a Charge Move with a base power rating of 90 and a Damage per Energy ranking of 1.80.
It should be noted that Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day.
To learn the exclusive move, you must catch or evolve the featured Pokémon during Community Day hours.
