Trainers are expecting the next big Pokemon Go update to go live later this week.
The APK file for the new update has been shared online and apparently includes a new Gen 4 evolution item.
An official date for the rollout has not been confirmed; however, Niantic has confirmed that something is happening later today.
“As mentioned in our last Community Note, we’ll be making some changes to Pokémon effectiveness in battle,” a message from Niantic confirms.
“Most notably, CP values will be adjusted to improve in-game balance. The rollout will begin on November 14 at 1 p.m. PST.”
So this could be the release time for the new update being shared online by Pokemon Go players.
It could also just be a step toward another update being worked on for the release of new Gen 4 Pokemon.
What we do know is that a new Pokemon Go update will add the Sinnoh Stone to the game.
This could be being saved for a new event in November, possibly going live just before Thanksgiving.
The Sinnoh Stone will reportedly evolve Gen 1-3 Pokemon into new Pokemon Gen 4 forms.
This would provide the next major wave of Generation 4 Pocket Monsters to collect and something that fans can look forward to happening soon.
Here’s the Pokemon Go description for the new item, which states: “A special stone originally found in the Sinnoh region that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve.
“It is very tough and has a beautiful sheen.”
The interesting thing about this item is that the Sinnoh Stone has never been used in earlier Game Freak Pokemon games.
They have appeared in unofficial fanmade titles, which begs the question of whether this new item will be replacing other evolution items in Gen 4.
Trainers are also hoping to find out more about the December Community Day Pokemon later this week.
So far, Niantic has not shared any information on what day it will be held on or what Pokemon will be the star.
As October’s Community Day included a starter Pokemon, we can probably expect something from a little further afield.
And there are some working theories on what Pokemon will be included in future Community Days in 2018.
Earlier this year, The Silph Road published a piece predicting the Community Day Pokemon for the year.
The post correctly claimed that Chikorita would headline the September event, while Slakoth, Cyndaquil and Trapinch were also tipped to appear.
The post also mentions Ralts, so it's possible we'll see the Psychic/Fairy type make an appearance soon.
Then again, Niantic may change things up and try and finish 2018 on a high note, offering up a top choice Pokemon to catch.
