Pokemon GO Flygon (Max CP 2458) is one of the most anticipated Gen III Pokemon, mostly due to excellent design and typing.
The Flygon family line starts with Trapinch, a pure GROUND type, that gains dual GROUND DRAGON typing upon evolving into a Vibrava, a first of its kind to have this particual typing.
Flygon hovers on the edge if high ranks with strong ATK (205), but average DEF (168) and STA (160) – the verdict on its performance is solely up to its move selection.
Where to find Trapinch, Vibrava and Flygon in Pokemon GO?
Desert and rough terrain biomes.
Flygon in the Pokémon GO meta
Although Flygon is a very popular Pokemon in the core games, it’s not really clear where it will land in the Pokemon GO meta. On one hand, it’s typing is surely interesting, but he still gets annihilated by ICE moves and that Ground dual typing does absolutely nothing to cover for Dragon weaknesses.
Moving on, Flygon’s stat distribution is a mess: not enough ATK, really low DEF and a resulting low Combat Power score leave a lot to be desired. If it had a stronger ATK, we would treat it as a DRAGON typed Scizor-ish glass cannon.
Currently, we have no idea if Flygon will be of any use, especially with the availability of Legendaries like Articuno.
