Aaron Kwok has been in the news recently because of all the negative press surrounding his wife, Chinese model Moka Fang. So here's a breather from all that. The 54-year-old Heavenly King has worked with many charities over the years but he has kept one charitable act under wraps for almost three decades.
Back in 1994, an apprentice jockey named Francis Lam was involved in an accident which left her with a severe brain injury. When she fell into a coma, her family members approached veteran host Luke Tsang and told him that Francis was a longtime fan of Aaron. They hoped that the star would pay Francis a visit in the hospital, in hope that it would lead to a miracle.
Aaron agreed immediately, but requested that the family keep this a secret from the press. He headed to the hospital in the middle of the night and sang his classic hit, ‘Loving You Forever' to Francis.
Sadly, she passed away without regaining consciousness, but her family remained grateful to Aaron. This secret was only revealed to the press recently by a source who is believed to be from the hospital.
Netizens were extremely moved to hear the story, with many remarking that Aaron has remained humble and grounded despite his superstar status. “He’s a good man, and I hope his wife and children can be as kind as he is,” one netizen mused. Other netizens brought up all the charitable deeds Aaron has done throughout the years, praising him for his constant efforts to help the underprivileged.
One netizen summed it up perfectly with this comment: “They say the richer you are, the stingier you get. Aaron has riches to last him a lifetime, but it seems like the richer he gets, the more he wants to help others around him. This is the kind of mindset our society needs to have.”
