Angel He announces birth of third child

Chinese singer Angel He and her boyfriend, Chinese drummer Diao Lei announced the birth of their baby daughter on Wednesday (February 27).

Angel, who shot to fame after appearing on the singing competition Super Girl, was previously married to Chinese actor He Ziming. The couple, who were married for three years, called it quits in 2016. Ziming and Angel have two kids together, a son and a daughter, with Angel assuming sole custody of them following their split.

In January this year, Angel announced that she was in a relationship with Diao Lei. She also clarified that her relationship with Ziming had ended in 2016, and that there was no adultery going on.

“I'm currently in a new relationship, (I) did not mean to alarm the public with (news of) my private life, thank you for your concern,” she wrote.

Less than three months later, a post made by Diao Lei to his friend circle was revealed to the public. In the post, Diao Lei shared a picture with a newborn baby, with his caption enthusing about becoming a father. 

​After the post was made public, Diao Lei followed up with a post on his Weibo account, confirming that he is now a father. The drummer revealed that he and Angel had initially wanted to keep the news private, but it was inadvertently revealed to the public. He also asserted that he will take good care of Angel in the future. 

“(I will) take care of her and the children, to be someone they can depend on,” he wrote.

A little later, Angel posted a picture of their family-of-five, confirming that she had indeed given birth to her third child. “You’ll do the farming, while I weave the cloth, you’ll drum, while I sing,” she captioned her post.
