ARMY – this is the announcement that you’ve been waiting for. It’s been more than four years since their last solo gig, BTS 2014 Live Trilogy Episode II: The Red Bullet in Singapore, and BTS will finally be making their way back to Singapore for their BTS World Tour: LOVE YOURSELF.
Singapore was among the cities announced as those as part of their Asia tour, with other cities such as Taipei and Bangkok also included in the list.
During their upcoming visit here, they will also be making history by being the first-ever K-Pop act to perform in the National Stadium, which boasts a capacity of 55,000. Previous gigs held at this massive venue include world-class artistes Madonna, Coldplay, the Backstreet Boys, Jay Chou and most recently, Mayday.
The Asian leg of the LOVE YOURSELF tour comes shortly after the successful round up of BTS’s North American and European legs of the tour, which has seen all tickets to their gigs snapped up within moments of their release.
The tour kicked off in Seoul on August 25 at the Seoul Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of close to 70,000. Both nights of their show in Seoul were quickly sold out, and their North American shows did so well that an additional show, held at Citi Field, was added.
Citi Field, which is home to the New York Mets, also became a part of history as BTS because the first-ever K-Pop act to perform in a USA stadium. Their upcoming stadium gigs include two nights at the Tokyo Dome, three nights at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, two nights at the Nagoya Dome and two nights at the Fukuoka Yahuoko! Dome.
The BTS World Tour: LOVE YOURSELF tour comes after the release of the group’s critically acclaimed album trilogy Love Yourself: Her, Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer. Album sales have grown from one release to another, a testament to the skyrocketing popularity of the group around the world.
