Looks like the expected due date for Taiwanese singer David Tao’s first child, a son nicknamed ‘BonBon’, has been pushed forward! Previous reports shared that the 49-year-old’s wife, Penny will be giving birth in early March. However, latest reports after the couple held a baby shower to celebrate the arrival of their first child shared that Penny will be giving birth in February instead.
The Star Wars-themed baby shower, which was held on Monday (Jan 28), was attended by close to 40 guests, including celebrities like singer Shin and his girlfriend, Liu Wei, as well as Pace Wu, Patty Hou, Aimee Sun, Jimmy Lin and his wife, Kelly Chen. Guests arrived dressed in pure white, to keep with the party’s theme, while David and Penny were dressed in dark blue and black getups.
As for the reason behind the baby shower’s theme, David shared, “Star Wars was something that my parents introduced to me, and allowed me to fall in love with films. I can’t wait to introduce it to BonBon, in the hopes that the strength and power that (these) movies have brought to me, can be passed on to him, allowing him to grow up bravely.”.
In other unrelated news, as Shin rarely appears at public events with his girlfriend, the long-term couple, who have been dating for 16 years, were asked if they had any plans to tie the knot soon. However, Shin’s manager replied, “I’ve never asked him about his private life, they are stable. To us, they’re just a couple who’ve been together for a very long time, happily living life (together).”
