By now, you probably would have read that Eric Nam will be the host of the upcoming HallyuPopFest 2018. Last month, he popped by our little red dot for a couple of days and had a super-secret interview with us, sharing more about how he feels to be the person that concert attendees will be probably be seeing the most of from September 7 to 9, along with who he wishes to see at the gig.
Before we dived into the festival proper, we also took the chance to chat with him about his previous visit here – in particular, how he live-tweeted (we’re not even joking) his location so that fans at the airport would be able to say hello.
“I would like to say I’m pretty active on social media and my fans had been tweeting and messaging that they were waiting at the airport (for me),” he mused. “I didn’t realise that when we landed at the airport they were going to take me through the private exit, and so I was like, okay, I’ll be able to say hi to my Singapore fans after about a year.”
Eric continued, “But then they take me through this secret cave and I felt really bad because I knew many people had been waiting all day, so I really wanted to make sure that I get to see the people who have been waiting from the morning. They wrote letters and brought gifts and they invested a lot of time sitting at the airport, so I wanted to say hi, and I was glad I was able to do that.”
Someone give this man a round of applause.
