Since going public with her stylist boyfriend Mark Ngai, Hong Kong singer-songwriter G.E.M. has been openly affectionate with her beau on social media. However, she previously stated that wedding bells are not on the horizon yet as she wants to focus on her career.
Still, this hasn’t stopped rumours of her wanting to tie the knot from circulating, as recent reports from Hong Kong media state that the pair might be planning to get married soon.
The reports emerged after it was revealed that the 27-year-old spent Mother’s Day at Mark’s house, where she met his parents. In many Asian cultures, meeting your significant other’s parents is believed to signify that the couple is serious about their relationship and is ready to bring it to the next level.
Mark’s younger sister, actress Joyce Ngai, was asked about the maybe-wedding at a recent event. She shared that the pair looked happy when they were at her house, but confessed that she has yet to hear about plans for marriage yet.
“Our mum isn’t rushing them to get married. They look happy together, so I haven’t broached the subject either, which is why I really don’t know how true the rumours are,” she explained.
