In a recent magazine interview, Hannah Quinlivan opened up about her plans for her family of four, as well as the parenting approach that she takes with her two kids, Hathaway, 3, and Romeo, 1.
Hannah shared that she had agreed with her celebrity husband, multi-hyphenate Jay Chou to “put each other first” in their relationship, even before their children. Whilst she was filming the upcoming movie Skyfire, her co-star, Chinese actor Wang Xueqi, shared with her some marital advice.
Recounting his words, Hannah revealed that the actor had told her that there might be consequences if the parents only focused their attention on Hathaway and Romeo. Once their children are all grown up, the parents might realise that they’ve since grown apart whilst only taking care of their children, Hannah shared.
“We felt that we should focus on our relationship as a couple first before taking care of our kids together,” Hannah reasoned.
Sharing that she understands the stress that celebrity kids have to go through, the 25-year-old shared that she has considered relocating their family overseas permanently. However, sending Hathaway or Romeo overseas alone is something that is out of the question for her.
The mother of two also let on that Hathaway’s personality is more sensitive, admitting that they had indeed doted on their firstborn a little more. After Romeo began showing signs of jealously, the couple realised their mistake and have since taken steps to ensure that they treat both Hathaway and Romeo fairly.
