On November 19, celebrity couple Ada Choi and Max Zhang announced the birth of their third child, a baby boy nicknamed Le Er.
The announcement was posted by Max on his personal Weibo account, along with a picture of their family-of-five.
“November 15. Both mother and son are safe,” he wrote. “ Le Er, welcome to the Zhang family! We’ve safely returned home.” In the picture, the couple’s younger daughter, Chloe can be seen cradling the newborn.
Ada shared more about the birth in a telephone interview with the media as well.
“The baby currently weighs about 3.68kg and is very healthy. My husband accompanied me into the delivery room to cut the umbilical cord and took good care of me,” the 46-year-old shared.
“I was frightened at first, as I’d have to learn how to take care of a baby all over again, but once I saw him, I was so touched that I almost cried. I’m very grateful, excited, and thankful,” Ada continued, sharing her feelings on becoming a mother again.
The actress also shared that the couple had actually planned to stop at two kids, and that Le Er was a “welcome surprise” for them. She also confirmed that she has no plans to put her career on the back burner to focus on her family, and laughed, “Everyone, please remember to engage me if you have any work (opportunities)”.
Ada also shared that the couple’s two daughters “really adore their baby brother”.
Max also shared his feelings on welcoming his third child in a short interview, saying, “Of course I’m very happy, (because both mother and child) are safe and sound. The baby’s really strong and healthy. We’ve never thought that we would have another child, we really have to stop now. If Ada doesn’t do it, I’ll (undergo a vasectomy).”
Max and Ada tied the knot in 2018. They welcomed their eldest daughter, Zoe in 2011, and Chloe in 2013.
