Were you one of the many viewers who tuned in to JJ Lin’s live stream concert last Friday? If you weren't, then you would have missed this extra-special buddy-buddy moment between Mayday’s Ashin, Jay Chou and JJ.
Although Ashin was not on the list of special guests, which included Tanya Chua, David Tao and Mickey Huang, he popped up midway through the gig, and bearing a gift from Jay.
As it turns out, although Jay was unable to attend the concert, the 41-year-old had made preparations beforehand to support JJ. In fact, Jay was so eager to share his present that he started dropping hints even before the concert began when he commented on a post JJ had made to promote the live stream gig.
“I brought a present for you,” Jay wrote, adding a laughing with tears emoji at the end of his comment.
Later, during the live stream, Ashin gamely participated in a cake decoration contest together with JJ, who turned 39 on that day.
When that ended, Ashin asked: “We need to have some drinks to go along with our cakes, right?”
He then added: “Jay, he knew that I was going to be here today, so he asked me to bring some milk tea as a treat for everyone." A crew member then trotted out individual bottles of Machi Machi milk tea for everyone. Well, everyone except JJ.
Nope, the birthday boy wasn't left out, of course. Jay, who is known to be a big bubble tea fan, prepared a massive five-litre bottle of the sugary drink specially for JJ.
“He hopes for JJ to finish this bottle tonight, and upload a pic of it onto Instagram,” Ashin said, while JJ checked out his gift.
No word on whether JJ actually finished that behemoth of a bottle, but hey, at least he posted it on IG, right?
