Jerry Yan is not ready to talk to the press

Taiwanese singer-actor Jerry Yan made an appearance at the 30th Golden Melody Awards held last Saturday (June 30) as an award presenter.

Just before the 42-year-old's arrival on the red carpet, his manager announced that Jerry will not be accepting any interview requests from the media. They added that he would only speak to the red carpet hosts as their interview was pre-arranged.

Following the announcement, netizens surmised that Jerry’s decision was to avoid any questions about ex-girlfriend Lin Chi-ling’s recent marriage. The Taiwanese model announced a flash marriage to Japanese actor Akira last month.

As Jerry and Chi-ling were romantically involved in an on-again, off-again relationship for a number of years, many were surprised by Chi-ling’s sudden announcement.

In other unrelated news, Hong Kong actress Angela Tong posted a picture with Jerry after the awards ceremony, thanking the singer-actor for celebrating her birthday with her.

“Thank you to the most handsome Golden Melody Awards (presenter). This time every year, you move me (with your actions) and wishing me a happy birthday,” she gushed.
