Hong Kong actor Joe Ma attended a winter food festival in Hong Kong on Christmas day, where he put on a rare singing performance.
He even spotted a few fans who had brought some of his old albums to the event and laughed, "It's so wonderful! I still have lots of old stock in my house, perhaps I can give them away as gifts next time."
That said, Joe expressed that he does not intend to properly enter the music industry other than singing a few drama soundtracks. "It's good for an actor to sing the soundtrack for his own show because he can express the right feelings, but I've really never thought about actually becoming a full-time singer," he said.
Joe's 20-year-old son Ma Zai Xiang, who is a competitive swimmer, previously expressed an interest in following in his father's footsteps to enter the entertainment industry, although he intends on focus on his studies first. Joe shared that although there are no concrete plans for Zai Xiang to make his showbiz debut, he is not against the idea at all.
"I think the most important thing for him now is to concentrate on his studies and swimming, but if a good opportunity [in showbiz] ever comes up in the future, he can consider taking a shot at it," he said. "At the end of the day, what he wishes to do with his future is completely up to him."
