Joey Yung confirms break up with Wilfred Lau

​Though reports that high-profile celebrity couple, Joey Yung and Wilfred Lau had called it quits first started spreading in March last year, the couple chose not to comment on them, with their managers calling it a “personal issue”.

However, word on the street is that the couple are no longer together, even though they were spotted out for a meal together in June last year.

Yesterday, Joey made an appearance at a promotional event, where she shared her plans to go on vacation with her good friends, Hong Kong singer-actresses, and members of the pop group Twins, Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi, to Greece in August.  As she revealed that both Gillian and Charlene will be bringing along their other halves, reporters asked if Joey will be bringing along Wilfred as well.

Joey replied, “As an artiste, each and every word that I say will have an impact on other people. Thus, I wanted to handle my relationship matters privately. But, since I was asked (face-to-face), I will tell everyone honestly, I am currently single.”

Adding that she’s currently enjoying her life as a singleton, the singer shared that she feels marriage and relationships aren’t something that is necessary to have. Instead, her friendships take priority in her life.

Wilfred and Joey went public with their relationship in 2012. As Joey once shared her plans to wed Wilfred after she turns 40, many had believed they would eventually tie the knot.
