Joey Yung Held An Impromptu Performance At A Paris Train Station After Cancelling Her Concert 'Cos Of COVID-19 Concerns
The COVID-19 situation has caused plenty of event cancellations, which has inevitably disappointed some fans who crossed oceans to watch their favourite singers perform. This was the case for some fans of Hongkong singer Joey Yung. They had specially flown to Paris to catch her Love In concert tour on March 1, only to be notified that the gig was cancelled.
Among these fans, however, were four very lucky ones who bumped into Joey when she was at the station getting ready to board her train to the Netherlands, where she performed on March 3. Serendipitously, there was a piano at the station, and Joey decided to hold an impromptu performance there for them.
The singer decided to sing ‘Sobbing’, which is one of her biggest hits, and ended up drawing a small crowd during her two-minute performance. At the end of the video, she proudly exclaimed, “I managed to hold a show in Paris!”
The video has garnered over 180,000 views since it was posted on March 3, and among the praise that she has received was one very special comment from Sammi Cheng.
“Being able to play the piano while singing is not an easy feat,” the pop diva wrote, adding a string of the clapping hands emoji to emphasise her point. Celeb manager Mani Fok added, “As long as you have a passion for music, your stage is wherever you want it to be.”
