Lawrence Hiew and Danielle Gan confirmed as lead actor and actress for upcoming idol romance movie ‘Love in the City’

​Local idol romance film ‘Love in the City’ has been scheduled to start filming next year March 2019. According to Royal Entertainment’s spokesperson, the script was long written 5 years back. The whole project was not carried out due to the sum from investors being used to help the agent and his singer to fulfil their dreams. An invested sum of S$1 million was thus given to them, causing the inability to ‘give birth’ to the film.

When asked why the sudden appearance of the film proposal since keeping it away five years ago, the spokesperson replied that it was because of a movie production company. The movie production company questioned that why Royal Entertainment is not doing any movie project after showing incredible results from its concert and web drama. This gave the ‘Love in the City’ another chance to meet the audience.

Royal Entertainment has been in touch with team in Taiwan to look for suitable scriptwriter and director for the film. The company also hoped to have on-board experienced artistes from Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and of course Mainland China as the casts.

The lead actor was initially set to be Singapore local singer Elson Soh, as the original story revolves around that of a singer. However, Elson proposed that the main lead candidates to cast his juniors, Lawrence and Danielle. He feels that both artistes have the x-factor look and are extremely hardworking, which will definitely help them to be the all-new Asia Idols.
