Liu Yifei Was Called Fat By Netizens Who Compared Her To Yang Mi And Angelababy, One Month Later She Got Fit

Back in January, the biggest Chinese stars turned up in droves for the Weibo Awards. The glitzy event is one of the most talked about nights in Chinese showbiz as netizens can usually predict whose popularity will skyrocket that year based on the award winners.

Liu Yifei, however, became one of the most discussed celebs of the night even before the awards show started. And it was all because she had walked the red carpet with fellow actresses Yang Mi, Angelababy and Tong Liya. Netizens couldn't help but notice how Yifei, who was standing between Yang Mi and Angelababy, was "a size bigger" than the two stick-thin ladies. She was then criticised for being fat.

“Is she not looking after herself after landing herself a Hollywood role? I’ve never thought of her as fat, but after looking at this photo, I’ve changed my mind” one netizen said about Yifei, who is starring as Mulan in the upcoming Disney remake. 

It seems like all that criticism has gotten to Yifei, who has clearly been working hard at the gym. Yesterday (Feb 26), the 32-year-old, wearing just a crop top and workout pants, showed off her newly-toned bod in a series of selfies. 

​“I’ve been watching a lot of fitness videos. Let’s maintain healthy bodies and minds! I hope all of you love yourself a little more and keep healthy. I love you guys,” Yifei wrote.

The actress also responded to the comments left by her fans, with her most-liked reply being the one where she promised a fan to plank for three minutes every day.
