After months of speculation, Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu has confirmed that she is expecting a second child, and will have her wish of having a child born in the Year of the Pig fulfilled.
Rumours of the 39-year-old pregnancy first started after photos of her on holiday in the Maldives with her family saw her stomach looking fuller than usual. That, along with Myolie’s former label mate, actor Gregory Wong’s slip of the tongue when he said, “The artistes keep having babies. Just look at Myolie!” had many convinced that the actress had a bun in the oven, but could only confirm after she entered her second trimester of pregnancy in accordance with Chinese beliefs that doing so during the first trimester would bring bad luck.
Myolie made the news official by sharing an ultrasound photo of her baby on her social media platforms with the caption, “A pig baby will be joining (the family), so the Lee’s farm can finally be opened for business!” She hilariously added a pig’s head emoji to cover her baby’s head on the ultrasound. The actress welcomed her first child, a son named Brendan, in the Year of the Rooster.
A second photo on her announcement post saw Brendan poking Myolie’s stomach with a curious expression on his face, with netizens wondering if the little boy has any idea if he will be welcoming a younger sibling in the next few months.
Myolie tied the knot with her businessman husband Philip Lee in December 2015 after a year of dating and welcomed their first child in October 2017.
