Jo In Sung, Nam Joo Hyuk, AOA's Seolhyun, Park Sung Woong, Bae Sung Woo, Park Byung Eun, Oh Dae Hwan, Uhm Tae Goo and more attended a press conference to promote their new film The Great Battle in Seoul.
The movie is based on the historical 88-day battle between Emperor Taizong of Tang's 500,000 soldiers and General Yang Manchun, who desperately tries to defend his city of Ansi. This is Joo Hyuk's big screen debut, and the model-actor admitted that he was burdened to have a starring role so quickly. However, he said he tried to brush aside his anxiousness to put on his best performance in front of his seniors.
"I'm so happy to be able to work with such great industry seniors. Since I was able to take part in this project with them, I thought I should work very hard," he said.
Also taking on a historical film for the first time is Seolhyun, who plays General Yang Manchun's younger sister, the leader of a female soldier unit. Like Joo Hyuk, she said she felt pressure, but working with so many respected seniors reassured her.
She added that playing a fictional character wasn't as challenging as playing a figure who really existed in real life. "My character is one who knows exactly what she wants to do, which I found extremely cool," she said.
