Netizens Think Edison Chen’s New Clothing Launch Was His Way Of Throwing Shade At Shawn Yue3/5/2020 Shawn Yue landed himself in a bit of a sticky situation recently after netizens accused his clothing brand of supporting the Hongkong pro-independence movement. Although he has since apologised for the "misunderstanding", there have been netizens calling for a boycott of his label MADNESS, along with any other brands and projects associated with the actor.
Their anger has since led them to praise Shawn's rumoured nemesis Edison Chen, who may or may not have thrown shade at Shawn's recent boo-boo with his latest product launch. Edison, who owns multi-label chain Juice, recently released photos of items from the brand WHO DECIDES WAR which he would be selling at Juice outlets. One of the items is a T-shirt that features the numbers '666' with a stop sign stamped on it. Although the numbers '666' is usually associated with the devil, some netizens think it has something to do with Shawn. “Do you mean no lok666?” In case you don't know, Shawn’s IG handle is @lok666, which is believed to be a reference to his nickname ‘liu shu’, or sixth uncle. These netizens have since banded together to support Edison, sharing that his unabashed criticism of Shawn is “refreshing”. This is not the first time that speculation of the two being on bad terms has surfaced. Back in 2002, the pair reportedly fell out over Gillian Chung. At the time, she was dating Edison, but rumours of her falling for Shawn surfaced when they worked together on rom-com Just One Look. Shawn, Edison and Gillian have never directly addressed the rumours, but it has caused many to believe that it's why the two men have been at loggerheads for close to two decades. This is also not the first time Edison has publicly thrown shade at Shawn. Just last year, he branded Shawn, as well as his former pals Eason Chan and Miriam Yeung, as "snakes" in a widely-publicised IG post.
