Over 50,000 netizens have signed a petition that was launched last month, urging the South Korean government to look into the matter of South Korean couple Bae Yong Joon and Park Soo Jin abusing their privileges during the birth of their first child.
Soo Jin had previously been said to have used her celebrity status after her delivery last October and received special treatment, such as inviting her manager and family beyond the permitted visits allowed, bringing in food, and cutting in line for the incubator.
While the actress had issued an apology for her actions on Instagram in November, netizens were not satisfied as recent reports by Korean media revealed that the hospital had also allowed Soo Jin and her newborn to monopolise the treatment room for fatally ill infants for two months until their discharge.
In addition, they said that Soo Jin was spotted ignoring the sign which said “only husbands were allowed” during fellow actress’s Kim Sung Eun’s confinement. She had not only taken the elevator up, but even posted a picture on social media, enraging many.
Yong Joon and Soo Jin tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony in 2015, and recently announced in August that they were expecting their second child.
