Singapore’s first Purple Tea beverage is here. The Purple Tea not only contains many health benefits but is also low in sugar content. Many of the health properties exceed that of green tea. Let’s find out what is Purple Tea and why drink Purple Tea.
Cultivated in Kenya, Purple Tea is a crossbred variety of the common tea leaf, Camellia Sinensis, from which black, green & white teas are derived. They are not genetically modified plant and is completely natural.
Artiste Lawrence Hiew enjoys drinking the Purple Tea. He explained that the Purple Tea has a pleasant aroma, along with stronger and sweet flavour to provide a quenching element. “It’s very refreshing and definitely very healthy. Just look at the properties it contains- super antioxidants and anthocyanins can help fight cancer and reduce risks of cardiovascular diseases and hypertension.”
This unique cultivar yields beautiful, vibrant purple leaves. The leaves are purple because they contain super anti-oxidants called anthocyanins. These are the same anti-oxidants found in other purple plants like blueberries, Acai & pomegranates.
Purple Tea also contains Polyphenols which are chemicals found in foods that help to prevent the damage of free radicals in the body. All these health benefits exceed that of green tea.
Danielle Gan also shared the beauty benefits from drinking Purple Tea. “Purple Tea is a slimming tea. Drinking Purple Tea can help in weight loss. Most importantly, it has anti-ageing properties as well. It has everything a woman needs to keep in good shape!”
Purple Power, Purple Tea.
