Rainie Yang held an autograph signing session in Taipei last Saturday (Nov 16) to promote her upcoming album Delete Reset Grow.
She shared that her new single 'Celebration of Oneself' is inspired by the loneliness one feels when important people aren't around during special occasions. It's certainly something the 35-year-old has personally experienced herself, having been in a long-distance relationship with fellow singer Li Ronghao before they wed in September.
"Being in a long-distance relationship is hard - I am extremely qualified to sing this song!" she exclaimed. According to Rainie, the couple only got to see each other three to five days a month. "I would spend 300 out of 365 days a year feeling lonely."
However, she would never complain to Ronghao because she knew he was also going through the same thing. "All you can do is try and adapt to the situation, trust each other, and put each other at ease."
Now that they're married, Rainie is frequently treated to heart-fluttering displays of affection by her husband. "He shows his love through actions more than words and likes to plan little surprises," she revealed.
For instance, she once came home to discover a bow-wrapped box on the sofa. When she opened it, she found a microphone inside and was so touched by the gift that she burst into tears on the spot. "I tried to give Ronghao a call but got a voicemail message, then, all of a sudden, he walked out of the bedroom!" she said. "I'm quite a sensitive person but when it comes to surprises, he has never disappointed me."
