Hong Kong singer-actress Sammi Cheng is clearly ready to put the past behind her.
Last month, news of her husband, Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Hui cheating on her with Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong was announced, but Sammi has since announced that she has forgiven Andy, and that the couple will be “looking towards the future” now.
With a concert tour starting in July, it’s all hands on deck for Sammi, as she dives into practice and rehearsals for the concerts. On May 4, she shared a photo of herself listening to music on a pair of headphones, revealing in her caption that she is planning to release a number of new songs during her concerts.
“I hope that I’ll be able to finish recording all the new songs before the concerts. There's already a few that I’m very satisfied with, “ she wrote.
The 46-year-old also shared her concerns about her concert set list, admitting that fans might not enjoy it if included too many of their new songs.
Her fans quickly responded to her with their comments, encouraging the singer-actress to “sing whatever songs you want to”. There were also many who declared, "We'll like anything that you sing!"
Sammi also admitted that she often gets the jitters before a concert, despite having over three decades of experience under her belt. “Every time I do a concert, I’ll get scared,” she confessed, before adding that “fear is a big motivator” for her.
