South Korean actor Song Joong Ki sent the internet into a frenzy on Sunday after he was spotted at the Hong Kong airport holding a book that had the word “babies” written on the cover.
The actor recently hosted the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Hong Kong last Friday (Dec 1) and was later seen at one of the city’s high-end shopping district with his manager and bodyguard.
Joong Ki was then said to be purchasing a gift for his wife, actress Song Hye Kyo, who was initially rumoured to be joining him in Hong Kong.
According to Korean media, the 32-year-old actor had gone to the Eslite bookstore at Causeway Bay and later appeared with that book on babies.
As this was not the first time that Hye Kyo was rumoured to be pregnant, (she was previously seen wearing an over-sized coat to cover up her possible pregnancy), netizens began to further speculate that this was confirmation of the good news for the couple.
However, it seems that it was all a misunderstanding. Korean media later followed up with a report that the supposed book was actually the cover of a card given to him by a fan at the airport.
The Song-Song couple wed in a private, yet lavish, ceremony on Oct 31 at the Shilla Hotel after announcing their engagement in July. They recently returned from their honeymoon in Spain and were said to be moving into their S$11.98 million mansion when they return to Seoul.
