This Wuhan Nurse Got Creative With Her Protective Suit... And Scored Some Love From Chinese Actor Hu Ge
The COVID-19 epidemic has taken a toll on the spirits of frontline medical workers. But this nurse working in the epicentre of the outbreak, Wuhan, just got her day brightened in a, um, huge way.
The nurse took to Weibo on February 8 to share her joy when a patient suffering from COVID-19 was discharged after given a clean bill of health.
“Other than treating their sickness, we have to heal their hearts as well. The thick protective suits might make us physically distant from the patients, but we should still try our best to brighten the downcast mood in the wards,” read her caption.
Along with her post, she also attached a photo of herself wearing her protective suit, which had the words, “Hu Ge’s wife” scrawled on the back. She then tagged the popular Chinese actor, as well as his fanclub.
Her message soon caught the attention of Hu Ge himself, who shared the nurse's post on Sunday (February 16).
“You're the most beautiful bald person. Without the persistence and selfless dedication of you and your comrades, the citizens of this nation will not be healthy and prosperous. Looking forward to the day when the epidemic will be over, so that you can take off your protective suit. I’ll give you the title [of being my wife] for the time being, remember to return it to me after this!” the still-single 37-year-old star wrote.
P/S: He called her 'bald' because she had uploaded some photos of herself shaving her head to avoid cross-contamination while caring for COVID-19 patients in a post a few days prior.
Soon after Hu Ge shared the nurse’s post, fans began streaming in to leave supportive comments for the nurse, with one quipping: “Remember to return the title of Hu Ge’s wife to me instead, I’m his actual wife”
