Taiwanese actress Tiffany Hsu, who previously dated Ethan Ruan for eight years, went public with her relationship with cinematographer Liu You Nian in October 2017. Since then, the couple has kept a low profile and has only been spotted a handful of times out and about in public together.
With the pair quietly dating, it came as a surprise when reports of them registering their marriage emerged this week. The Taiwanese media claimed that the pair registered their marriage on December 15 after carefully deliberating and calculating the date so that it would bode well for their relationship according to Chinese beliefs.
Tiffany’s social media update in November, which wrote, “We’ll meet in Morocco”, was also claimed to be a hint at her honeymoon destination, with fans showering the couple with congratulations. Some reports even went as far as to claim that the couple is expecting their first child together.
However, their happiness was short-lived as Tiffany and her label have denied the rumours. “We don’t have any good news to share with everyone right now, but we thank you for your concern,” she said in a short statement, while clarifying that her post on Morocco was work-related and had nothing to do with a potential honeymoon destination.
Her manager added that Tiffany’s schedule for the coming months is booked full, and that she has no free personal time until the second half of 2019, joking that the actress won’t have any time to either get married or to have a baby.
