It's no secret now that Wu Chun had kept has his marriage a secret when he was a member of Fahrenheit. And because he had been so bent of maintaining his pop idol image back then, his wife Lin Liying had to take her wedding photos alone. The couple also didn't have a wedding ceremony.
16 years later, the 40-year-old star has decided to make it up to his wife by throwing a grand wedding banquet, this time in front of the cameras, which is where his reality show, Before Marriage comes in.
In the latest episode, Wu Chun was moved to tears when he saw Liying in a wedding gown. “We’ve been together for 24 years. It hasn’t been easy on you for the years that we’ve been together. This is a form of stress that only you and I know. I feel like I’ve been running after my dreams all of my life, and I’m so grateful that you’ve been by my side. You’ve never complained, and you always support me unconditionally,” he said to his wife.
“I never thought twice because I can love you for a thousand, or even 10 thousand years," he continued, his voice choked up with emotion. "I’m telling the truth, because I’m so greedy that I hope that you’ll marry me even in our next lives.”
The highlight of the episode, however, came when their birth certificates were revealed. Turns out that the couple was born five hours apart in the very same delivery room in Brunei. Wu Chun was born at night on October 10, 1979, while Liying was delivered in the wee hours of October 11.
This was brand new information to Liying, who was shocked to find out that their fates were intertwined so closely from the moment they were born.
Netizens have been quick to comment on the revelation, with one writing, “I can’t believe it. It’s like a storyline from a drama. They’re soulmates.” Another quipped, “Does anyone want to compare birth certificates with me? I might be able to find my life partner if so!”
