After months of bad publicity for Chinese actress Angelababy — see here, here and here — there's finally some good news for the star.
The 33-year-old recently became the first female Chinese celeb to have 10mil followers on Instagram.
While that's nothing compared to Angelababy's 104 million followers on Weibo, it's still a very impressive milestone for a Chinese actress on a platform that's largely dominated by American and Korean stars.
To celebrate this achievement, the actress took to her Instagram to thank her fans for their support.
"10M followers. love u guys three thousand times", she wrote.
The actress mainly uses her IG account to update her fans about her day-to-day activities. She also shares more lifestyle photos on IG compared to her Weibo, which is often filled with work updates and sponsored posts.
Basically, she makes you feel like you're following a friend instead of a Chinese superstar.
Netizens also found that unlike on Weibo, Angelababy's posts on Instagram do not get deleted after six months, which means that fans can look back on her past content as and when they like.
And among her followers are some equally famous people. American socialite Paris Hilton, Blackpink members Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo, and Mandopop King Jay Chou all follow her. No wonder she's been called the Chinese queen of social media.
