Kim Jong Kook dismisses claims of secret girlfriend

​South Korean singer Kim Jong Kook sent the internet into a frenzy after rumours about him having a girlfriend in the United States surfaced. These claims rose after good friend, actor Cha Tae Hyun, dubbed the latter the “master of dating” and added that “I think Jong Kook definitely has a girlfriend in the United States”, on an episode of the Korean reality show Entertainment Weekly a week ago.

Tae Hyun explained that he could not think of a reason why Jong Kook would go to the US so often, and with his mother nonetheless.

However, at a promotional event for Korea Artiz Studio in Hong Kong two days ago, Jong Kook dismissed these claims and said that he travels to America frequently because his mother likes the country and he also finds it a very refreshing vacation destination.

The 41-year-old added he will keep his relationships a secret, only going public with his romance when he is ready to get married.

The singer then gave the crowd a laugh after revealing his gift to his good friend, actor Song Joong Ki on his highly anticipated wedding to actress Song Hye Kyo back in October. He said that because the two attended the same gym, he would become Joong Ki’s personal trainer, as that act itself would already be enough for a present.
